I woke up and I didn't see his shoes.
I looked around. No shoes. No jacket. I went to sleep but my hurt heart.
I couldn't sleep. 1:00 AM.
I started to panic.
I began a stream of text.
What time are you coming home?
No response.
Where are you?
No response.
I'm worried.
No response.
Check his bed.
I walked over.
He was sleeping in his bed the whole time.
I hugged him tightly.
He is my son. 21. Knows everything.
Hangs out late.
Makes me crazy.
But he came home safely.
I totally understand this feeling. I do the same for my daughters 21 and 27
ReplyDeleteIf we get weird vibes, we'll text our daughters who live away from us, just to know they are ok. It's what you do as a parent. So glad you "found" your son! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this personal and scary slice with us!
Hugging them all tight, even as they grow.
ReplyDeleteI would have been in a full panic. Oh, the sense of relief you must've had when you found him safe in his bed!
ReplyDeleteNice to see you Slicing with us! It's been awhile since we've been in NYC for the RC Workshop, hasn't it!?!?!
